Nature's Recipes
The ends of the hair are usually the first to feel the effects of washing, sun, blow-drying and heat styling.
Coconut oil is one of the plant oils studied in connection with reducing protein loss from the hair fiber. A small amount can be used as a home treatment before shampooing.

Warm the oil between your palms until it softens.
Apply along the length of the hair, mainly from the middle to the ends.
Distribute gently with your fingers or a wide comb.
Leave on for 20–30 minutes.
Shampoo and rinse well.
- One teaspoon of coconut oil for short or medium hair.
- Two teaspoons for long, thick hair.
- A wide-tooth comb.
Once a week, or according to the degree of dryness.
If the hair is fine and tends to look oily, start with just half a teaspoon and apply it to the ends.
There is no need to flood the hair with oil. Sometimes a small amount does a more pleasant job.
Why Is It Good?
Coconut oil contains lauric acid and is able to penetrate the hair fiber to a certain degree. It may reduce protein loss and give the hair a feeling of softness.
