Nature's Recipes

Sometimes the mouth feels dry or acidic, especially after certain foods or drinks.

A gentle baking soda rinse is a well-known home solution that can help neutralize acidity in the mouth and give a feeling of cleanliness and freshness.

Preparation and Use
  1. Dissolve the baking soda in the water.

  2. Sip a little of the solution.

  3. Rinse the mouth gently for 20–30 seconds.

  4. Spit out the solution.

  5. Repeat until the cup is finished.

Can be used occasionally, as needed.

What You Need
  • A cup of lukewarm water — 240 ml.
  • A quarter teaspoon of food-grade baking soda.
A Small Tip from Nature

It is best to prepare a fresh solution each time, and not to keep it in a bottle for days.

Why Is It Good?

  • Baking soda is an alkaline substance that helps neutralize acidity.
  • The rinse helps clear residue from the mouth.
  • May provide temporary relief from a feeling of acidity.
  • Contains no alcohol or flavorings.

Did You Know?

Baking soda, or sodium bicarbonate, is also used in some oral care products thanks to its ability to neutralize acidity.

A home rinse does not replace brushing with a fluoride toothpaste or cleaning between the teeth, but it can serve as a targeted addition to the routine.
