What We Put on Our Skin Doesn't Always Stay on Our Skin

What We Put on Our Skin Doesn't Always Stay on Our Skin
What We Put on Our Skin Doesn't Always Stay on Our Skin

Our skin is much more than an outer covering. It is the largest organ in the body — a living, sophisticated system whose role is to protect us from the environment.

But the skin is not a completely sealed barrier. While a large part of the substances we apply to it stays on the surface, certain substances are able to penetrate the layers of the skin, and under certain conditions even reach the bloodstream.

And that is exactly why it's worth giving a little more thought to what we choose to put on it every day.

We are exposed to more than we think

Modern life exposes us to an enormous variety of substances. They are in the air we breathe, in the water, in food packaging, in cleaning products, in the fabrics we wear, and in our skincare products too.

Not every synthetic substance is harmful, and not every natural ingredient is necessarily safe. What matters is the type of substance, its concentration, the frequency of use, and the degree of exposure to it.

Think for a moment about our daily skincare routine.

In the morning we cleanse our faces, use toner, a serum, a moisturizer, sunscreen, and sometimes makeup as well. In the evening we repeat a large part of those steps.

Each of these products contains ingredients designed to perform a specific role: to preserve the product, stabilize the texture, provide moisture, or supply the skin with active ingredients.

We use them day after day, for years — but how many of us actually stop to read the ingredient list?

Some things are within our control

We can't always control the quality of the air we breathe or every substance we encounter during the day.

But when it comes to the products we choose to put on our face and body, we have the option of making more conscious decisions.

We can read the ingredient list, understand the role of each substance, choose products suited to our skin's needs, and prefer quality formulas that have been tested for safety and effectiveness.

In my eyes, proper skincare doesn't begin with big promises or luxurious packaging. It begins with understanding what we give our skin.

Why do I believe in skincare based on ingredients from nature?

Nature offers us an abundance of ingredients with wonderful properties. Plant oils, botanical extracts, and antioxidants can help nourish the skin, maintain moisture, and protect against environmental damage.

I love the idea of using ingredients that come from nature — especially those grown under organic conditions.

At the same time, natural ingredients too need to be chosen carefully. The quality of the raw materials, their concentration, the combination between them, and the stability of the formula are no less important than their source.

The goal is not to avoid every ingredient whose name sounds scientific, but to understand what we're putting on our skin, and why.

Our approach at OrOrgani

When I founded OrOrgani, I wanted to create skincare products I could truly believe in.

Products based on careful selection of raw materials, on quality, and on the desire to give the skin what it needs — without loading it with unnecessary things.

I believe skincare should be simple, pleasant, and effective. The kind we enjoy coming back to every morning and evening, knowing we dedicated a few minutes of attention to ourselves.

Because for me, skincare is not only the desire to look better. It is also the way we relate to ourselves and to our body.

A small habit that can make a big difference

Next time you buy a skincare product, take a moment to read the ingredient list.

Don't be alarmed by long or unfamiliar names. Try to understand what they do, what your skin truly needs, and whether the product suits you.

Just as we learn to be more aware of the food we eat, so we should be more aware of the products we put on our body.

Our skin accompanies us our whole lives. It deserves the attention it is worthy of.

With love,
Nurit
