Softening Dry, Rough Skin on the Elbows

The elbows are among the areas we tend to forget in our care routine. They lean on tables, rub against clothing and sometimes develop a rough, dry texture.
My home solution is simple: a little lukewarm water, moisturizer and a thin layer of shea butter.

Dip the cloth in lukewarm water.
Lay it on the elbows for 3–5 minutes.
Remove and dry gently, while the skin is still slightly damp.
Apply moisturizer.
Add a thin layer of shea butter and massage gently.
- A soft cloth.
- A bowl of lukewarm water.
- A small amount of fragrance-free moisturizer.
- Half a teaspoon of shea butter for both elbows.
You can do it every evening.
There is no need to scrub the elbows with sugar, salt or a pumice stone. Strong rubbing can actually worsen the dryness.
Why Is It Good?
The water temporarily softens the skin's outer layer, the moisturizer helps add moisture, and the shea butter creates an oily layer that reduces its loss.
Did You Know?
Rough skin on the elbows is not always the result of dirt or poor hygiene. Often it is dryness and repeated friction.
A few minutes of gentle, consistent care can be more helpful than aggressive scrubbing once a week.
